How it began . . .

James "Bo" Green

In 2013, one of our basketball team members (James “Bo” Green) was diagnosed with brain cancer. This behooved us to move quickly on his behalf, to attempt to help him with unforeseen expenses. His love for basketball, gave us the idea to use it to achieve our goal by way of a basketball tournament. The first tournament, called "Ballin 4 Bo"

was a great success. Unfortunately, a couple months

after the event, he lost his battle with cancer.

Bo Green was such a great impact in the lives of others, especially the youth in the community. The love he displayed for helping children was overwhelming and unmatched. Mindful of this adoration, we decided to continue the same power of love by having an annual basketball tournament to raise money for a child

battling cancer. Although our mission to help offset medical costs of children battling cancer has not changed,

in 2021, the event name changed to the

"Cincinnati Contest of Champions"
